Announcing the Opening of Maguire & Pank – a New Affiliate Law Firm

We are pleased to announce the opening of the law firm of Maguire & Pank on the Warner & Pank blog. As lobbyists for Warner & Pank, we often encounter complicated legal problems and issues involving the courts in the Capitol. Indeed, much of our work involving criminal justice issues has often been driven by litigation. Valdivia, Plata, Coleman, Armstrong, to name a few, are all cases that have had a profound impact on California’s budget and legislative priorities. And as experts in criminal justice matters, the team at Warner & Pank has often been asked for legal advice. By opening a law firm, and as licensed attorneys for the State Bar, we will be in a better position to provide the legal services requested by our clients. To be sure, we are not giving up our day jobs. We will continue to advocate in the Legislature as well as provide strategic and business advice to our business clients on behalf of Warner & Pank. Maguire & Pank will simply give us the opportunity and flexibility to serve our clients in a new way.

With that in mind, we encourage and invite you to explore our new sister website at It offers information on the services that we plan to provide as well as an explanation on when and why you may want to hire a law firm, a California legislative advocacy firm, or both. In addition to being a business portal, we plan to provide legal news and updates on the firm’s website that we believe readers of Warner & Pank’s blog will find useful. We often find that decisions by United States and California courts are often catalysts for new legislation during the legislative season. We will try to flag those stories and cases as they appear. Whether providing legal advice or legislative strategy, our goal is to provide our clients with the most up-to-date and best information possible. We look forward to working with you in this new and exciting endeavor.
